Structural Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our Glasgow team. You will lead the delivery of structural engineering design and analysis across a diverse range of projects, providing technical leadership, mentorship, and quality assurance. This role offers flexible hybrid working, supporting a balanced and modern working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Project Delivery

Lead the structural design and analysis of building and civil engineering projects from concept through to detailed design.

Prepare and review design calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications.

Ensure designs comply with relevant British Standards, Eurocodes, industry guidance, and client requirements.

Conduct structural assessments, feasibility studies, and value-engineering reviews.

Oversee the integration of BIM and digital design processes within project workflows.

Manage project resources, budgets, and timelines to ensure successful delivery.
Team Leadership & Collaboration

Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to junior and mid-level engineers.

Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including architects, MEP engineers, contractors, clients, and external consultants.

Lead design workshops, technical reviews, and internal quality assurance processes.
Client & Business Development

Maintain strong client relationships and represent the company at meetings and site visits.

Support business development activities, including contributing to bids, proposals, and fee estimates.

Identify opportunities for project improvement, innovation, and growth.
Skills & Experience Required
-
Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (MEng preferred).
-
Chartered Engineer (CEng) with ICE or IStructE, or working toward chartership with substantial experience.

6–10+ years’ experience in structural engineering across relevant sectors (buildings, infrastructure, industrial, etc.).

Strong technical knowledge of structural design using steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.

Proficiency with industry software such as ETABS, SAFE, Tekla Structural Designer, Robot, or similar.

Solid understanding of BIM processes; experience with Revit is advantageous.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong project management abilities, with experience leading design teams.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a hybrid environment.
