Overview

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a member of our engineering team, you will contribute to designing, developing, and implementing innovative electrical solutions for projects focused on Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems for MEP projects, ensuring compliance with UK regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Prepare detailed electrical designs, schematics, and layouts using industry-standard software.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, architects, and contractors to deliver innovative and sustainable design solutions.
  • Perform electrical load calculations and system design, including lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, and other associated systems.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations to recommend solutions that align with project requirements.
  • Develop project plans, specifications, and detailed documentation for stakeholders.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and client meetings to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Provide support during on-site installations, inspections, and testing to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends, best practices, and advancements in MEP engineering and electrical design.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in all project collaboration and team engagements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in electrical design, specifically within the MEP engineering domain.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK building codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or other related software.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and life-safety systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative and diverse team environment.
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional registration with a recognized institution (e.g., IET) is a strong advantage.

Day-to-Day

  • Collaborate with team members to conceptualize and refine electrical engineering designs for ongoing projects.
  • Conduct calculations, studies, and analyses to ensure adherence to client specifications and safety protocols.
  • Attend project meetings with clients and stakeholders, presenting updates and proposing design improvements.
  • Review technical drawings, cross-check project documentation, and ensure accuracy in deliverables.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and trainees.
  • Visit project sites as needed for inspections, troubleshooting, and collaboration with on-site teams.
  • Explore opportunities for process improvements, new technologies, and sustainable approaches to electrical design.
