  • In-depth knowledge of British Standards, Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations, and Building Regulations.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, AMTECH, or similar design tools.
  • Strong understanding of sustainable design principles, energy efficiency frameworks, and green building certifications (e.g., BREEAM or LEED).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace and actively promoting diversity within the team.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is highly desirable.

Day-to-Day

  • Start your day with a team meeting to discuss ongoing and upcoming projects, prioritizing collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
  • Work on detailed electrical system designs, developing effective layouts and schematics for client review and approval.
  • Coordinate with colleagues from other disciplines to ensure designs are integrated and cohesive.
  • Review and approve design calculations, drawings, and specifications prepared by junior engineers.
  • Visit project sites to assess installation progress and address any technical challenges.
  • Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and energy efficiency analyses for projects in development.
  • Support diversity and inclusion initiatives by encouraging open dialogue and mentoring team members.
  • Participate in training sessions or attend industry events to stay current on emerging technologies and best practices.
  • End your day by reviewing project timelines and ensuring upcoming deadlines are on track.
