Senior Geotechnical Engineer.

About the Role:
The client is seeking a Chartered Senior Geotechnical Engineer to work on projects across nuclear, defence, highways, and building structures. The successful candidate will provide geotechnical leadership, manage technical design, and deliver safe and efficient engineering solutions across complex projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead geotechnical design, analysis, and reporting for nuclear, defence, highways, and building structures projects.

  • Interpret site investigation data, laboratory testing, and geotechnical risk assessments.

  • Provide expert advice on foundations, slope stability, retaining structures, ground improvement, and earthworks.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.

  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical oversight.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, health and safety regulations, and client requirements.

  • Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and specifications.

  • Represent the client in meetings, design reviews, and technical presentations.

  • Be able to pass and maintain security clearance for sensitive nuclear and defence projects.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or equivalent.

  • Significant geotechnical experience across nuclear, defence, highways, and building structures.

  • Proven ability to lead complex projects and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Strong technical knowledge of geotechnical design software and methods.

  • Excellent report writing, communication, and client management skills.

  • Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (MEng or BEng).

  • Eligible to pass security vetting and clearance processes for sensitive projects.
