Senior Project Manager – Defence & Nuclear
Location: Glasgow (Hybrid Working Available)

Are you an experienced Project Management professional looking to work on complex, high-impact projects within the defence and nuclear sectors?

I am currently working with a well-known reputable organisation that has secured a significant pipeline of work over the next 3–5 years. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Senior Project Manager to support a technically complex and diverse portfolio.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking team delivering critical infrastructure projects that play a key role in national defence... A background in M&E is essential. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects
  • Provide client-side project management across the full lifecycle (design through to delivery)
  • Manage programme, cost, risk, quality, and stakeholder engagement
  • Support governance and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, subcontractors, and key stakeholders
  • Mentor and support junior members of the team
  • Contribute to bid preparation and business development activities

About You

  • Proven experience delivering infrastructure or engineering projects
  • Background in mechanical engineering is highly desirable
  • Experience working within regulated environments (defence, nuclear, or similar) is advantageous
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts 
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects within a complex environment
  • Previous experience working with or alongside government bodies is beneficial

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5–6 years’ experience in a project management role
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline
  • Professional accreditation (APM, PRINCE2, or similar) desirable
  • Eligibility to obtain Security Clearance (SC)
  • Must be a British National due to the sensitive nature of the work
