Structural engineer

An established and fast-growing structural engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Structural Engineer with around 4 years’ post-graduate experience to join its expanding Glasgow city centre team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer seeking exposure to a wide range of building projects, clear progression towards Chartership, and flexible hybrid working within a supportive, modern environment.

The Role

You will work as part of a collaborative design team delivering structural solutions across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. The role offers increasing technical responsibility and client interaction, supported by experienced senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Structural analysis and design of building structures using UK codes and Eurocodes

  • Preparation of structural calculations, reports, and technical documentation

  • Coordination with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams

  • Supporting the production and checking of structural drawings

  • Attendance at site inspections and design meetings as required

  • Assisting with project delivery from concept through to construction

  • Supporting graduates and contributing to team development

About You

  • Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering

  • Circa 4 years’ post-graduate experience in a UK structural engineering consultancy

  • Actively working towards Chartered status (ICE or IStructE)

  • Good working knowledge of Eurocodes and UK design standards

  • Experience with structural analysis and design software

  • Confident communicator with a proactive and organised approach
