Overview
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented **Revit Technician** to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on supporting UK Engineering Design within the **MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing)** discipline through the utilization of **Revit MEP** software. As a Revit Technician, you will work within a collaborative environment contributing to innovative, sustainable, and cutting-edge design projects across varied sectors. Responsibilities
- Develop, design, and deliver high-quality **MEP models** and drawings using **Revit MEP** in compliance with UK industry standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other design professionals to ensure project goals are met effectively and efficiently.
- Adhere to company and project-specific BIM standards while contributing to their development where necessary.
- Interpret and incorporate design changes into models while ensuring integrity and accuracy of output.
- Set up and manage project models, including proper organization of digital files.
- Perform clash detection and coordination using relevant software tools.
- Produce and maintain accurate schedules, drawings, and documentation as required for different stages of a project.
- Actively participate in team meetings, design reviews, and brainstorming sessions to share innovative ideas and solutions.
- Support mentoring and training of junior team members in Revit MEP workflows and techniques.
- Stay up to date with advancements in BIM, Revit, and model management practices for the continuous evolution of our processes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience using **Revit MEP** in a UK Engineering Design environment.
- Sound understanding of **MEP engineering principles**, building services, and associated codes and standards.
- Strong skills in **Revit software** with a thorough understanding of BIM Level 2 standards and processes.
- Proficiency in additional software tools such as Navisworks, AutoCAD, or other design/modeling platforms is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in creating models and drawings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet project deadlines.
- A proactive approach to collaborative problem-solving and ability to take ownership of work.
- Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in engineering design, architecture, or a related field.
- Knowledge of UK building regulations and compliance requirements is a plus.
Day-to-day
- Collaborate closely with the project team to create and develop MEP designs and solutions using Revit.
- Update, maintain, and enforce BIM templates and libraries to ensure consistency across projects.
- Review and resolve **clashes** within the models through coordination and communication with stakeholders.
- Attend and actively contribute to design and coordination meetings.
- Support the project team by troubleshooting Revit issues and assisting with software training for colleagues, when necessary.
- Organize and document project design data, ensuring files are logically stored and easy to retrieve.
- Track and monitor the progress of Revit modeling tasks to meet established project milestones.
