Assistant Site Manager

They are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join their team to oversee day-to-day operations on our new residential housing site in the Scottish Borders.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring that all construction activities are completed safely, built to the highest quality, on time and within budget. You will be expected to manage site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, liaise with external consultants and be an integral part of the team
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Site Manager with the overall organisation and progress of works on site, helping to achieve programme, quality and cost objectives
Support the coordination of subcontractors, direct labour and materials to ensure the build programme stays on track
Work closely with the Sales Team by attending regular Sales/Build meetings, following agreed procedures, and ensuring show homes are inspected and maintained to a high standard
Take on additional responsibilities as required by the Site Manager, including stepping in as deputy when needed
Help ensure the construction team is appropriately resourced, well managed and clear on responsibilities, with support provided through communication, guidance and ongoing development
Contribute to delivering an excellent customer experience, ensuring service standards align with company expectations
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience working on sites with structured build programmes and timelines
Confident and proactive approach, with the ability to drive performance and keep teams focused on delivery targets
Strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt priorities when business needs change
Ideally CIOB qualified and/or NVQ Level qualification in Construction Management (or a time-served tradesperson with broad site experience)
Strong working knowledge of construction processes and compliance requirements, including Health & Safety, NHBC standards and Building Regulations
Good experience handling customer service matters and resolving issues professionally
