Site Manager

Our client, one of the UK’s leading housebuilders, is seeking a Site Manager to join its Scotland West Construction team.

The Role
Reporting to the Construction Director, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of a residential development site. The role focuses on delivering projects safely, efficiently, on budget, and to a high standard of quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily site operations and provide clear direction to site teams.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations in collaboration with H&S teams.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop site staff through training, coaching, and toolbox talks.
  • Maintain high standards of site presentation and organisation.
  • Deliver build programmes in line with technical drawings and planning requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with building regulations and warranty standards (e.g. NHBC, LABC).
  • Monitor progress and submit accurate reports to senior management.
  • Maintain thorough site records, including labour, materials, and H&S documentation.
  • Carry out inspections and ensure all work meets required standards ahead of key stage checks.

Requirements

  • Experience as an Assistant Site Manager or Site Manager within high-volume housebuilding.
  • Strong team leadership and organisational skills.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of construction legislation and health & safety practices.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above).
  • Valid CSCS (Site Manager level), SMSTS, and First Aid certificates.
  • Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/NVQ) desirable.
  • Additional certifications (e.g. Scaffold Awareness, LOLER) are advantageous.

Skills

  • Strong communication and administrative ability.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • IT literate, including Microsoft Office.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Committed to promoting inclusion and diversity.

Additional Information

  • Flexibility with working hours may be required.
  • Outdoor role in varying weather conditions.
  • Travel between sites and office locations required.
