A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team, supporting major infrastructure projects across the Highlands & Central Belt. This position offers the opportunity to take a senior commercial role on high-value civil schemes, providing leadership, commercial control, and strategic input from pre-construction through to final account.

 

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will have overall responsibility for the commercial performance of allocated projects, including:

  • Leading the commercial management of civil engineering projects from inception to completion

  • Managing and developing Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors

  • Procuring, managing, and negotiating with subcontractors and supply chain partners

  • Preparing and reviewing cost plans, forecasts, and monthly cost/value reports

  • Managing change control, variations, and contractual correspondence

  • Ensuring robust financial and contractual controls are in place

  • Supporting final accounts and client negotiations

  • Building strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors

 

We’re looking for a commercially astute professional with:

  • Significant experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering

  • Strong knowledge of NEC forms of contract

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying (BSc/MSc) or equivalent experience

  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple workstreams

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
