We are seeking a motivated Structural Engineer with approximately 2 years of post-graduate experience to join our clients expanding team in our new Inverness city-centre office.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary environment, giving you hands-on experience across a wide variety of sectors, project types, and design challenges—ideal for someone looking to accelerate their career growth in a fresh and forward-thinking office.

About the Role

Based in a modern, collaborative workspace just minutes from local amenities and transport links, you will be involved in projects including:

  • Commercial, residential, and industrial developments

  • Heritage, retrofit, and refurbishment works

  • Public sector, education, and community buildings

  • Infrastructure and civil structures

  • Sustainable and low-carbon design initiatives

This broad project exposure makes the role perfect for an engineer eager to grow quickly, build technical confidence, and gain experience across multiple disciplines from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Structural analysis and design in accordance with Eurocodes

  • Preparing design calculations, technical reports, and specifications

  • Supporting the development of structural drawings and models

  • Assisting with site inspections and project coordination

  • Collaborating with internal engineering teams and external partners

  • Contributing to project delivery across diverse sectors

  • Developing your skills within modern digital design workflows (including BIM and 3D modelling)

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

  • Approximately 2 years of structural design experience

  • Understanding of Eurocode-based design

  • Familiarity with industry software (e.g., Tekla, Tedds, Robot, ETABS, or similar)

  • Strong communication and coordination skills

  • Ambition to progress quickly and broaden your engineering expertise

  • Interest in working towards ICE or IStructE chartership (fully supported)
