Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and deliver electrical engineering designs for MEP projects, ensuring high-quality and sustainable outcomes that meet client requirements and adhere to UK building regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver seamless, integrated building designs.
  • Conduct detailed electrical load calculations, system designs, and equipment specifications.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers, fostering knowledge-sharing and professional development within the team.

  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on MEP design within the UK context.
  • Proven knowledge of UK engineering and building regulations, including BS7671, CIBSE standards, and other relevant codes.
  • Proficiency in design and analysis software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Dialux, Amtech, or similar tools.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with a track record of managing design projects and mentoring junior team members.

Preferred:

  • Experience in integrating sustainability principles and energy-efficient solutions into project designs.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships across diverse teams and clients.
  • Familiarity with HR processes such as development of training programs or involvement in hiring of engineering talent is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance technical expertise with commercial project delivery.

Day-to-Day

  • Review and evaluate clients’ project specifications, offering innovative solutions to meet their needs.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate MEP designs and resolve potential challenges.
  • Develop detailed electrical system designs, including layouts, cost estimates, and material specifications.
  • Oversee and guide the work of junior engineers, verifying designs, and ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Coordinate across departments, supporting HR and Talent teams to facilitate the recruitment and retention of engineering talent.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess project progress and ensure proper implementation of designs.
  • Provide timely updates to project stakeholders and assist in addressing any project-related concerns or changes.

Join our team and help shape the future of sustainable engineering design! We are committed to building an inclusive, talented workforce that reflects the diversity of our clients and communities. Together, we can achieve remarkable results.
