The Opportunity
A well-established specialist contractor operating within the piling, foundations and ground improvement sector is seeking an experienced Senior Design Estimator to join its team in Central Scotland. This is a technically diverse role combining design, estimating and technical sales responsibilities, supporting both pre-construction and operational delivery stages.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Experience across driven piles, cast in-situ piles, mini/restricted access piles and ground improvement techniques is highly desirable.

  • Development of technical and commercial proposals from initial enquiry through to project award.

  • Assessment and prioritisation of incoming enquiries and formulation of bid / win strategies.

  • Liaison with clients, consultants and approving authorities.

  • Provision of technical support on complex schemes at both pre-construction and delivery stages.

  • Contribution to business development activities including technical sales, pricing strategy, market intelligence and R&D input.

  • Ideally a background in civil engineering with strong technical understanding of ground engineering and foundation design methodologies.

  • Commercially aware with experience managing estimates, risk, and client negotiations.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Relevant engineering degree (civil engineering, geotechnical engineering or geology preferred).

  • Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status desirable.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute and technically strong individual looking to take on a senior role within a growing and reputable specialist contractor.
