We are seeking a highly skilled BIM/Revit Technician with expertise in UK Engineering Design (MEP) and Revit MEP to join our dynamic and inclusive team. Responsibilities
As a BIM/Revit Technician, you will:
- Develop, manage, and deliver detailed 3D models and technical drawings for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems using Revit MEP.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering and architectural teams to ensure coordinated and clash-free designs.
- Produce accurate, high-quality technical documentation and drawings in line with UK industry standards and project requirements.
- Implement and adhere to BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes, including data management and project standards.
- Conduct clash detection and resolve coordination issues in collaboration with other disciplines.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously, managing deliverables and deadlines efficiently.
- Maintain and update Revit libraries and templates in alignment with company and project-specific standards.
- Support project teams with technical expertise and provide input for design solutions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and standards, particularly those specific to the UK.
- Attend project meetings and provide technical updates to stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as a BIM/Revit Technician, with a focus on MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing systems).
- Expertise in Revit MEP, with a deep understanding of BIM data exchange, workflows, and tools.
- Strong knowledge of UK Building Services Engineering Design standards and regulations.
- Proficiency with other design and coordination tools, such as Navisworks, AutoCAD, or similar software.
- Excellent understanding of clash detection and resolution.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in creating technical drawings and models.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience with Dynamo, Solibri, or other related automation and analysis tools.
- Familiarity with sustainability practices and technologies within the construction industry.
- Relevant qualifications in Engineering Design, Architecture, or a related field (e.g., HNC/HND or Bachelor’s degree).
- Certification in BIM or Revit software is highly desirable.
Day-to-Day
On a typical day, you will:
- Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure project requirements are met.
- Utilize Revit MEP to create, update, and manage comprehensive 3D models and technical drawings.
- Conduct clash detection tests using tools like Navisworks and proactively resolve any identified issues.
- Attend design and coordination meetings to communicate project progress and share technical insights.
- Monitor and maintain BIM standards across projects, ensuring compliance with UK industry guidelines.
- Update and manage project-specific Revit content libraries.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions for design challenges as they arise.
- Contribute to evolving company practices in BIM/Revit, sharing knowledge with team members and mentoring junior staff as needed.
