Civil Engineering Contractor – Infrastructure & Groundworks Projects | Scotland (Central Belt / Various Sites)
Overview
A leading civil engineering contractor delivering large-scale infrastructure and groundworks projects across Scotland is seeking a Sub Agent to support the successful delivery of key schemes within the Central Belt.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer ready to step into a site leadership role, working on technically challenging projects with clear progression to Site Agent level.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Site Agent in the day-to-day management of site operations
- Oversee site engineers and subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered safely and efficiently
- Ensure all works are carried out in line with drawings, specifications, and programme requirements
- Manage and maintain quality assurance processes, including ITPs and as-built documentation
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including RAMS and company procedures
- Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement solutions to maintain programme
- Assist with planning, programming, and reporting of site activities
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and stakeholders as required
- Support commercial awareness by assisting with cost control and resource management
Requirements
- Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Previous experience as a Site Engineer or Sub Agent within civil engineering projects
- Strong background in infrastructure, groundworks, or utilities
- Experience managing site teams and subcontractors
- Good understanding of QA processes, H&S regulations, and site documentation
- Proficient with surveying equipment (e.g. Trimble or Leica) and AutoCAD
- Full UK Driving Licence
