Structural Technician

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated Structural Technician to join our Glasgow office. You will play a key role in producing accurate drawings and models for a wide range of structural engineering projects, supporting engineers in the design and delivery of safe, efficient, and innovative structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and detailed structural drawings using CAD and BIM software.

  • Create and maintain 2D and 3D models for structural projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.

  • Work closely with structural engineers to translate design concepts into technical drawings.

  • Assist in the coordination of drawings with architects, contractors, and other disciplines.

  • Maintain drawing standards and contribute to quality assurance processes.

  • Support engineers with general design tasks and project documentation.

  • Carry out revisions to existing drawings as required during the design and construction stages.

Skills & Experience

  • HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Proven experience as a Structural or Civil Technician within a consultancy or construction environment.

  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit Structures or other BIM software is highly desirable.

  • Understanding of construction detailing, structural principles, and building regulations.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
