About Us
We are a growing SME based in Dundee, specialising in innovative structural design solutions for residential and commercial projects. With a strong pipeline of work focused on timber frame buildings, we are looking to expand our engineering team with a dedicated and motivated structural engineer who has a passion for sustainable design and modern methods of construction.
Key Responsibilities

Undertake structural design and analysis for timber frame buildings, including housing developments, commercial buildings, and bespoke projects.

Work with a range of structural materials (timber, steel, concrete, masonry), with a primary focus on timber engineering.

Prepare detailed design calculations, structural drawings, and specifications in accordance with Eurocodes and UK Building Regulations.

Liaise with architects, contractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and effectively.

Carry out structural surveys, inspections, and site visits where required.

Contribute to continuous improvement in design processes, BIM integration, and sustainable construction practices.

Provide input into project costing, feasibility studies, and tender documentation.

Mentor and support junior engineers/technicians within the business.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
-
Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng, MEng, or equivalent).

Minimum 3 years’ post-graduate experience in structural engineering, ideally within timber frame projects.

Strong understanding of timber design to Eurocode 5 and other relevant standards.

Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., Tekla Tedds, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).

Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction methods.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience liaising directly with clients and contractors.
Desirable:
-
Chartered or working towards chartership (CEng, IStructE or ICE).

Experience in off-site construction or modern methods of construction (MMC).

Knowledge of sustainability principles and embodied carbon in structural design.

Experience in mentoring junior staff.
