The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Site Engineer to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering a flagship infrastructure development in the East of Scotland.

This long-term project will involve the delivery of extensive enabling and infrastructure works supporting a major mixed-use development, including new roads, drainage, utilities, earthworks, public realm and associated civil engineering works.

The Role

Reporting to the Site Agent and Project Manager, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of infrastructure works, ensuring projects are delivered safely, accurately and in line with programme requirements.

Typical works include:

• Earthworks and ground engineering
• Section 278 and internal road construction
• Drainage and attenuation systems
• Utilities and service diversions
• Reinforced concrete structures
• Public realm and infrastructure works
• Foundations and associated civil engineering packages

Key Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying construction works.
• Producing and maintaining accurate site records.
• Interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with design and quality standards.
• Assisting with planning and coordination of daily site activities.
• Managing subcontractors and supporting the site management team.
• Carrying out quality inspections and maintaining QA documentation.
• Monitoring progress against programme and identifying potential issues.
• Supporting Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality compliance.
• Liaising with designers, clients and project stakeholders.

About You

We're looking for an ambitious Site Engineer with experience delivering civil engineering and infrastructure projects who is keen to develop their career within a well-established contractor.

Essential

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer within civil engineering.
• Strong setting out experience using Leica, Trimble or similar equipment.
• Experience on roads, drainage, earthworks or infrastructure projects.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Strong commitment to health and safety.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
• CSCS Card.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

• SMSTS or SSSTS.
• Temporary Works knowledge.
• AutoCAD experience.
• Experience using GPS and robotic total stations.
• Experience working on large residential infrastructure or mixed-use developments.
