Civil Engineering Contractor – Residential Infrastructure & Housing Developments | Edinburgh

Overview

A well-established civil engineering contractor specialising in residential infrastructure and housing developments is seeking a Site Engineer to support projects across Edinburgh.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a contractor with a strong presence in the residential sector, delivering high-quality groundwork and infrastructure packages for major housing developers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out setting out and surveying for residential developments, including roads, drainage, and plot works
  • Interpret technical drawings and ensure accurate delivery of works on site
  • Manage and maintain quality assurance (QA) documentation, including ITPs and as-built records
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including RAMS and site procedures
  • Liaise with site management, subcontractors, and operatives to coordinate daily activities
  • Support the delivery of infrastructure and groundwork packages across multiple housing plots
  • Monitor progress and report any technical or site issues
  • Assist with site supervision to ensure works are delivered in line with programme requirements

Requirements

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Previous experience as a Site Engineer, ideally within residential or housing developments
  • Strong knowledge of setting out, drainage, roads, and plot works
  • Experience working on groundworks and infrastructure for housing sites (highly desirable)
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and surveying equipment (e.g. Trimble or Leica)
  • Good understanding of QA processes and health & safety regulations
  • Full UK Driving Licence
