Civil Engineering Contractor – Rail & Infrastructure Projects | Scotland (Central Belt / Various Sites)

Overview

A leading civil engineering contractor delivering rail and infrastructure projects across Scotland is seeking an experienced Site Agent to take responsibility for the successful delivery of key projects within the Central Belt.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business with a strong pipeline of work, delivering technically challenging projects within the rail and infrastructure sector.


Key Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations
  • Lead and manage site teams, including engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors
  • Ensure all works are delivered in line with programme, budget, and specification
  • Oversee health and safety compliance, ensuring RAMS and company procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Manage and implement quality assurance processes, including ITPs and as-built records
  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain programme
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders
  • Manage site resources effectively, including labour, plant, and materials
  • Provide regular reporting on project performance to senior management
  • Support commercial aspects of the project, including cost control and variations

Requirements

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Proven experience as a Site Agent within civil engineering or rail projects
  • Strong background in rail, infrastructure, or utilities projects
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams and deliver projects successfully
  • Solid understanding of health & safety, QA processes, and site documentation
  • Experience with planning and programming (e.g. short-term programmes)
  • Proficient with surveying equipment and AutoCAD (desirable)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
