## Responsibilities  
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will:  
- Lead the design and analysis of diverse building structures projects, ensuring compliance with UK building regulations and standards.  
- Collaborate with architects, M&E engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders on project planning, design coordination, and construction processes.  
- Conduct structural assessments, feasibility studies, and site inspections for both new builds and renovation projects.  
- Prepare detailed design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and calculations using industry-standard software.  
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians, providing technical support and fostering career growth.  
- Ensure all designs incorporate sustainability principles, safety standards, and accessibility requirements.  
- Oversee project schedules and budgets, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining quality standards.  
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders effectively, communicating project progress and addressing any concerns or technical issues.  
- Stay current with advancements in structural engineering technologies, materials, and best practices.  
- Promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the team and across the organization.

## Qualifications  

### Essential:  
- Chartered Engineer (CEng), or working towards chartership, with a professional body such as ICE or IStructE.  
- A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related discipline).  
- Demonstrated expertise in UK engineering design standards, codes, and practices.  
- Strong experience in structural design for building structures, including steel, concrete, timber, and masonry projects.  
- Competence in using structural analysis and design software (e.g., Tekla, Revit, ETABS, Tedds, or similar).  
- Proven experience managing projects of varying complexity and scale.  
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.  
- Passion for sustainability and an understanding of its importance in modern structural design.  

### Desirable:  
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams on high-profile projects.  
- Familiarity with BIM processes and tools.  
- Knowledge of emerging digital technologies in construction and design.

## Day-to-Day  
- Attend and lead design meetings with team members and clients to ensure alignment with project goals and requirements.  
- Conduct detailed structural analysis and develop innovative solutions for design challenges.  
- Collaborate with sustainability specialists to integrate green building practices into structural designs.  
- Review and sign-off on calculations, technical drawings, and reports generated by team members.  
- Visit construction sites to oversee progress, resolve issues, and ensure adherence to design specifications.  
- Guide and support junior team members through training and development sessions.  
- Prepare design submissions and reports for regulatory approval or client review.  
- Monitor project milestones, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful outcomes.
