About the Role

James Gray Recruitment are working with a leading consultancy to recruit a Senior Structural Bridge Engineer. This opportunity is perfect for someone who has achieved chartered status (IStructE or ICE) and has 1–2 years’ post-charter experience. Based in Glasgow, you’ll take a key role in delivering complex and innovative bridge projects as part of a supportive and multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, assessment, and analysis of bridges and other civil structures.

• Produce and review calculations, technical reports, drawings, and specifications.

• Carry out site inspections and provide technical support throughout the construction phase.

• Apply UK standards and Eurocodes to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient designs.

• Work collaboratively with project teams and clients to ensure successful delivery.

• Mentor and support junior engineers, maintaining technical quality and consistency across outputs.

Requirements

• Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer (IStructE or ICE), with 1–2 years’ post-charter experience.

• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.

• Strong background in bridge engineering, with experience in design and assessment.

• Proficiency with structural analysis and design software.

• Excellent communication, project coordination, and client-facing skills.

• Full UK driving licence preferred.
