Senior Site Engineer – Civil Engineering

A leading multidisciplinary civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join a major long-term infrastructure project in Dunbartonshire.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a technically challenging programme involving both land and marine civil engineering works within a complex, highly regulated environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in project delivery, site engineering management, quality assurance, and mentoring junior engineers.
The Role
As Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing engineering activities on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will support project delivery teams while managing engineering documentation, temporary works coordination, subcontractor interfaces, and site compliance.
You will also contribute to programme planning, construction methodologies, and continuous improvement across the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all engineering duties on site
- Supervise and mentor engineers within the project team
- Produce and review RAMS, ITPs, temporary works briefs, NCRs, TQs and Early Warnings
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, and environmental standards
- Support management of subcontractors and supply chain activities
- Maintain accurate engineering records, site documentation and as-built information
- Assist with programme updates, planning, and progress reporting
- Conduct buildability reviews and support technical problem solving
- Ensure construction drawings and technical information are reviewed ahead of works
- Support material forecasting, procurement, and reconciliation activities
- Promote best practice and continuous improvement across the project
Requirements
- Previous experience working within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of quality management and safe systems of work
- Experience producing engineering and construction documentation
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office packages
- Degree, HNC or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering desirable
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to resolve technical issues and challenge designs where required
- Full UK Driving Licence

Due to the nature of the project, applicants must be UK Nationals and either hold Security Clearance or be eligible to obtain Security Clearance.
