The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Agent to join a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects throughout Scotland.

Working across the energy, utilities and general civil engineering sectors, you will be responsible for delivering multiple projects from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme and within budget.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple civil engineering projects across a varied client portfolio.

Typical projects include:

  • Substation and energy infrastructure works
  • Bridge and structural projects
  • Utilities and pipeline infrastructure
  • Earthworks and enabling works
  • Roads and general civil engineering schemes

You will also play a key role in supporting pre-construction planning, project delivery and successful project close-out.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing day-to-day site operations across multiple live projects.
  • Ensuring all works are delivered safely and in accordance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.
  • Leading site teams, engineers, supervisors and subcontractors.
  • Coordinating construction, engineering and commercial activities.
  • Monitoring programme performance and driving project delivery.
  • Managing client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Identifying and managing project risks, variations and change control.
  • Producing regular progress reports and programme updates.
  • Supporting planning, procurement and project handover activities.

About You

We're looking for an experienced civil engineering professional with a proven background delivering infrastructure projects within energy, utilities or general civils.

Essential

  • Previous experience as a Site Agent within civil engineering.
  • Strong background delivering civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent leadership, planning and organisational skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • SMSTS.
  • CSCS Card.

Desirable

  • Temporary Works Coordinator.
  • Appointed Person (Lifting Operations).
  • IOSH.
  • Utility service detection training.
  • Experience working on energy infrastructure or utility frameworks.
  • Experience within regulated infrastructure environments.
