Senior Quantity Surveyor
Leading Tier 1 Construction & Engineering Contractor

 

The Role

A leading Tier 1 contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its established regional business unit, based in Edinburgh.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a portfolio of public and private sector projects, delivering schemes up to £70 million in value. The role offers long-term stability within a well-structured and highly regarded commercial team.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account
  • Administer and manage contracts under NEC, JCT, and SBCC forms
  • Oversee cost planning, procurement, valuations, and variations
  • Manage subcontractor packages, including procurement and performance
  • Provide accurate financial reporting and forecasting
  • Support and mentor junior surveyors within the team
  • Work closely with project teams to ensure successful commercial delivery

 

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC, JCT, and/or SBCC contracts
  • Experience delivering medium to large-scale construction projects
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Ability to lead projects and manage subcontractor packages effectively
  • Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members

  • Regular site visits required across the Central East region
