Senior Quantity Surveyor
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading contractor specialising in building and civil engineering projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-value commercial, infrastructure, and civil engineering projects, supporting the delivery of projects from inception through to completion.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the commercial management of multiple projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to client expectations.

Prepare and submit interim valuations, cost reports, and final accounts.

Administer standard forms of contract (NEC, JCT, or equivalent), including managing variations, claims, and change orders.

Monitor project expenditure, cost forecasting, and financial performance.

Support tendering and estimating teams with cost planning, subcontractor procurement, and bid submissions.

Liaise with project managers, site teams, and clients to provide clear financial reporting and advice.

Review and assess subcontractor payments, variations, and claims.

Mentor and guide junior QS staff, promoting best practice and commercial excellence.
Requirements:

Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.

Proven experience in building, civil engineering, or infrastructure projects, ideally across commercial or public sector schemes.

Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.

Demonstrable experience in project cost management, commercial reporting, and contract administration.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to lead a team, work independently, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant QS software.

Estimating experience is highly desirable.
