We are seeking a highly motivated Senior/Principal Structural Design Engineer to join our Edinburgh office. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on diverse and technically challenging projects, while enjoying the flexibility of a hybrid working model. You will play a key role in leading design delivery, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to the continued success and growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead structural design projects from concept through to completion, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with relevant standards.

  • Develop and review design calculations, drawings, and technical reports.

  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to less experienced engineers and technicians.

  • Contribute to business development activities, including proposals and client presentations.

  • Ensure sustainability, innovation, and efficiency are embedded in all design solutions.

About You:

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (MEng preferred).

  • Chartered Engineer status (MIStructE or ICE) or working towards it at Principal level.

  • Significant experience in structural design across a variety of sectors (e.g., buildings, infrastructure, commercial, residential, or industrial).

  • Strong technical expertise in steel, concrete, timber, and/or masonry structures.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • A collaborative mindset with a passion for high-quality, innovative design.
