  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards chartership.
  • Extensive experience in mechanical engineering design, with a focus on MEP and electrical integration in the UK.
  • Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations, CIBSE, BSRIA, and related engineering codes of practice.
  • Proficient in using design software such as Revit MEP, AutoCAD, IES, Hevacomp, and other engineering analysis tools.
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery across a range of sectors (e.g., commercial, residential, healthcare, education).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to find creative, pragmatic solutions to engineering challenges.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage and inspire project teams.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of sustainable design principles, including BREEAM, LEED, and WELL standards.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies such as digital twins and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • Experience collaborating on projects with diverse, multicultural teams.

Day-to-day

  • Start your day with a virtual or in-person team meeting to review project milestones, set tasks, and share updates.
  • Focus on designing and modeling mechanical systems, collaborating closely with electrical and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal solutions.
  • Review design models, schematics, and client deliverables to ensure quality and compliance with UK regulations.
  • Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and detailed feedback on their designs.
  • Coordinate with clients, project managers, and contractors, addressing any queries and ensuring client expectations are met.
  • Conduct site visits and on-site inspections to monitor installation and ensure alignment with project designs.
  • Focus on professional development, attending webinars or training sessions that support sustainable and innovative engineering solutions.
