## Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced **Senior Mechanical Engineer** to join our innovative and collaborative team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in UK Engineering Design, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, alongside solid skills in Mechanical and Electrical Design. ## Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for building services, including HVAC, plumbing, and other MEP systems in compliance with UK regulations and standards.
- Collaborate proactively with cross-disciplinary teams, including architects, electrical engineers, and contractors, to ensure coordinated and efficient design.
- Manage engineering design from concept to delivery stages, including detailed design, calculations, and documentation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with clients to understand their requirements and communicate innovative solutions.
- Support energy-efficient and sustainable design initiatives, leveraging modern tools and technologies to create low carbon designs.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for junior engineers on the team, fostering an inclusive workspace that encourages learning and innovation.
- Conduct peer reviews of designs and technical documents to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Remain up-to-date with advancements and evolving standards in building services and MEP design within the UK, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and guidelines.
## Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering focused on UK MEP design, with a proven track record in Mechanical and Electrical design.
- Chartered Engineer status or progress towards achieving chartership is highly desirable.
- Proficient in engineering design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit (MEP), and simulation tools for energy analysis.
- Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, standards, and codes of practice. Experience with BREEAM or LEED certifications is a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a commitment to teamwork and inclusive practices.
- High level of attention to detail and proven problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines effectively.
## Day-to-day
- Design and develop HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for multiple projects simultaneously.
- Liaise with project stakeholders, from internal teams to external clients and contractors, ensuring expectations and deliverables align.
- Review and ensure the accuracy of mechanical design documentation.
- Resolve project challenges by proposing innovative and cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality and compliance.
- Provide support and guidance to junior members, holding regular brainstorming sessions and fostering cross-functional communication.
- Carry out and review energy efficiency calculations and ensure designs meet sustainability goals.
- Stay engaged with new industry trends and technologies, bringing insights and innovations to the team.
