The Opportunity

We are working with an established and growing Refurbishment & Fit Out Contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Glasgow.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven Quantity Surveyor to take responsibility for a range of refurbishment and fit-out projects, working closely with the operational team and clients to ensure projects are delivered successfully and profitably.

Projects can be valued at up to £8 million, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to work on varied and high-quality schemes across the refurbishment and fit-out sector.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of projects from pre-construction through to final account. You will work closely with Project Managers, Contracts Managers, clients, subcontractors and suppliers to maintain strong commercial control throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the commercial and contractual aspects of refurbishment and fit-out projects.
• Preparing and managing project budgets, forecasts and cost reports.
• Managing subcontractor procurement, valuations, payments and final accounts.
• Preparing and reviewing variations and change control.
• Managing projects through to final account and ensuring commercial targets are achieved.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.

About You

The successful candidate will be an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in refurbishment, fit out or a similar construction environment.

You will ideally have:

• A Degree in Quantity Surveying,
• Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
• Experience delivering and commercially managing projects up to £8 million in value.
• Previous experience within refurbishment and/or fit-out.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement and commercial management.
