Quantity Surveyor – Civils / Concrete Repair & Structural Strengthening
Location: London
Salary: Highly competitive + excellent package

An award-winning specialist engineering and construction business is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in London. The business is a global leader in post-tensioning, structural strengthening and concrete remediation, delivering design, engineering and installation in-house on major projects across the UK, Europe, Australia and the Middle East — having recently been acquired as part of a global engineering group, significantly increasing scale and long-term investment in the business.

The Role

  • Quantity Surveyor role covering civils and structural repair/strengthening projects, with a particular focus on concrete remediation, post-tensioning and CFRP strengthening works
  • Based in Central London, working on high-profile commercial, residential, retail and infrastructure projects
  • Joining a specialist, engineer-led business recognised as an industry leader in its field
  • Working closely with design engineers, project and site teams on a mix of new-build and remedial/repair contracts

What's on Offer

  • Excellent salary and package
  • Genuine long-term career progression within a growing, well-backed business
  • Long-term job security following recent significant investment and expansion
  • Potential for future internal relocation to Australia after establishing yourself with the company — an excellent route for anyone considering an international move down the line, with UK sponsorship and experience gained first

Requirements

  • Proven Quantity Surveying experience within civils, ideally with exposure to concrete repair, strengthening or post-tensioning projects
  • Strong understanding of contract administration and commercial management
  • Working knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contract forms
  • Experience managing subcontractor accounts, valuations and final accounts
  • Strong cost reporting, forecasting and CVR (cost value reconciliation) experience
  • Confident liaising directly with clients, main contractors and site teams
  • Sound understanding of measurement and estimating for civils/structural works
  • Relevant industry qualifications/chartership (RICS or ICE) preferred, though not essential
  • Full UK driving licence (site visits may be required)
  • Strong communication, negotiation and commercial awareness skills
