Quantity Surveyor – Specialist Subcontractor

Location: Glasgow

Are you a Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in your career within a growing and ambitious subcontractor environment? We are currently working with a well-established contractor who are expanding their commercial team due to a strong pipeline of secured work across the Central Belt.

Specialising in high-value packages ranging from £100K to £1.9M, the business is continuing to grow its presence across fire protection, drylining, partitioning and fire door installation. This is an excellent opportunity to join a close-knit team where you will have direct exposure to senior decision-makers and play a key role in the company’s continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account

• Preparation of take-offs, cost plans, and tender submissions

• Management of variations, valuations, and final accounts

• Cost control, budgeting, and cash flow forecasting

• Procurement and management of subcontract packages

• Liaising with clients, site teams, and subcontractors

• Supporting the development of a junior Quantity Surveyor

About You

• Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor or subcontractor environment

• Strong understanding of JCT contracts

• Proven experience in pricing, cost control, and commercial management

• Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

• Ambitious and motivated, with an interest in progressing into a senior role

Requirements

• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred)

• 5+ years’ post-graduate experience in a relevant role

• Full UK driving licence
