A well-established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering a wide range of projects across Scotland is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team, covering works across the East of Scotland.

East of Scotland (multi-site role)

The Role

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the successful delivery of civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to completion. This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership, commercial awareness, and a thorough understanding of contract management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing projects from initial enquiry through to final handover
  • Overseeing planning, design coordination, procurement, and site delivery
  • Leading and managing site teams, including Site Managers and Supervisors
  • Ensuring all works are delivered in line with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
  • Producing and maintaining project documentation, programmes, and HSQE plans
  • Managing budgets, cost control, and overall project performance
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and supply chain partners
  • Administering contracts with a strong focus on NEC forms of contract, including compensation events, early warnings, and change management
  • Working closely with commercial teams to ensure projects remain financially viable and compliant
  • Carrying out regular site inspections, audits, and progress reviews
  • Supporting and mentoring team members to drive performance and development

About You

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager within civil engineering
  • Strong NEC contract knowledge and commercial awareness (essential)
  • Demonstrable experience delivering infrastructure or civil engineering projects
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively
  • SMSTS certification (essential)
  • CSCS card (essential)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to project delivery
