Project Manager – Civil Engineering / Infrastructure

The Opportunity

We’re working with a well-established infrastructure contractor who is looking to appoint a Project Manager to support the delivery of a growing portfolio of framework projects.

This is a genuinely varied role where you will have real ownership of schemes from early planning through to completion. You won’t just be overseeing paperwork — you’ll be leading teams on site, working closely with clients, and helping shape how projects are delivered.

The company has a strong reputation for long-term frameworks and repeat work, offering stability alongside the chance to influence and improve delivery processes. You’ll be trusted to run your projects, supported by experienced senior management, and given the autonomy to make decisions.

This role would suit an experienced Site Manager ready to step up, or an established Project Manager looking for a business where they can have more input and visibility.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing projects across multiple live sites

  • Leading and supporting site teams to deliver safely and efficiently

  • Working closely with clients and supply chain partners

  • Monitoring programme, budget and performance

  • Ensuring health & safety and quality standards are maintained

  • Providing updates to senior management on project progress

  • Identifying improvements and driving best practice across sites

  • Supporting and mentoring developing staff

What We’re Looking For

We’re not just looking for someone who can run a programme — we want a leader who can motivate people and build strong working relationships.

Essential experience

  • Delivery of construction, civil engineering or utilities projects

  • Managing subcontractors and site teams

  • Strong understanding of health & safety on site

  • Experience working within budgets and project programmes

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Framework contract experience

  • Utilities or water sector background

  • Relevant site training (e.g., confined space)

Qualifications

  • SMSTS

  • CSCS Card (Supervisory or above)

  • Full UK Driving Licence

The Person

You’ll likely be:

  • A confident communicator who works well with clients

  • A practical problem solver

  • Organised and able to prioritise effectively

  • Someone who leads from the front and supports their team

  • Motivated to develop both projects and people

What’s On Offer

  • Long-term framework work providing job security

  • Supportive management team and clear reporting structure

  • Opportunity to progress and develop your career

  • Autonomy to manage your own projects

  • Varied and interesting workload

Additional Information

  • Travel between sites will be required

  • Occasional working away and weekend working may be necessary depending on project requirements
