Managing Quantity Surveyor – Infrastructure & Energy Projects (Scotland)

Are you a commercially driven Managing Quantity Surveyor looking to take the lead on high-profile infrastructure and energy projects? This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established national contractor delivering complex transmission and renewable energy schemes across Scotland.

About the Role

You’ll be joining a forward-thinking business that plays a key role in enabling the transition to a low-carbon future. Working within the Transmission and Renewables division, you’ll lead commercial delivery on major overhead line and substation projects up to 400kV.

The role offers a blend of hands-on commercial management and strategic oversight, working closely with project teams to ensure best-in-class performance across cost, quality, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all commercial activity across multiple infrastructure projects

  • Manage subcontractor packages, valuations, and final accounts

  • Prepare and present accurate claims, reports, and forecasts

  • Identify and manage project risks and opportunities

  • Ensure compliance with NEC3/4 contracts and company policies

  • Collaborate with engineering, planning, and finance teams to ensure successful project delivery

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Managing QS in infrastructure, utilities, or energy projects

  • Strong working knowledge of NEC3/4 contracts

  • Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying (or related discipline)

  • Full UK driving licence
