Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineer, you will:

1. Design and Development:

   • Create and review engineering designs, schematics, and specifications for MEP systems in compliance with UK Engineering standards and regulations.
   • Design and integrate electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, control panels, and renewable energy solutions.
   • Collaborate with mechanical engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical and mechanical systems.

2. Project Management:

   • Support project planning, ensuring deliverables meet timelines, budgets, and technical requirements.
   • Provide technical guidance and solutions during project execution to address challenges and ensure quality outcomes.

3. Collaboration and Coordination:

   • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, mechanical designers, and contractors, to develop coordinated MEP designs.
   • Partner with suppliers and vendors to specify and procure appropriate systems and components.

4. Compliance and Documentation:

   • Ensure designs meet all required health, safety, environmental, and compliance standards in the UK.
   • Maintain detailed documentation and reports on technical specifications and progress.

5. Innovation and Sustainability:

   • Propose creative solutions to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability in system design.
   • Stay up to date on the latest advancements in electrical engineering and mechanical design trends.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in electrical design within the MEP sector, specifically in the UK.
• Strong proficiency in UK Engineering Design standards and compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of relevant design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other engineering modeling software.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in diverse teams.

Preferred:

• Master’s degree or chartered engineer status.
• Experience with sustainable and renewable energy solutions in building projects.
• Familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes.
• Project management experience or certifications (e.g., PMP, Prince2).
