Responsibilities
As an Electrical Engineer, you will:

Design and Development:
- Create and review engineering designs, schematics, and specifications for MEP systems in compliance with UK Engineering standards and regulations.
- Design and integrate electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, control panels, and renewable energy solutions.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical and mechanical systems.

Project Management:
- Support project planning, ensuring deliverables meet timelines, budgets, and technical requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and solutions during project execution to address challenges and ensure quality outcomes.

Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, mechanical designers, and contractors, to develop coordinated MEP designs.
- Partner with suppliers and vendors to specify and procure appropriate systems and components.

Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure designs meet all required health, safety, environmental, and compliance standards in the UK.
- Maintain detailed documentation and reports on technical specifications and progress.

Innovation and Sustainability:
- Propose creative solutions to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability in system design.
- Stay up to date on the latest advancements in electrical engineering and mechanical design trends.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in electrical design within the MEP sector, specifically in the UK.
- Strong proficiency in UK Engineering Design standards and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of relevant design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other engineering modeling software.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in diverse teams.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree or chartered engineer status.
- Experience with sustainable and renewable energy solutions in building projects.
- Familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes.
- Project management experience or certifications (e.g., PMP, Prince2).

Day-to-Day Activities

- Use software tools to model electrical and mechanical system interactions.
- Proactively troubleshoot and resolve design or compliance issues.
- Attend project meetings and provide input to align designs with client expectations and requirements.
- Document and report project progress to key stakeholders.
