Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role will focus on engineering design in the MEP sector, with a specialization in electrical design. The successful candidate will work on exciting and cutting-edge projects, contributing to the development of innovative and sustainable electrical systems across various industries. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement electrical systems for MEP projects, ensuring compliance with UK engineering standards and regulations.
  • Create and review technical drawings, specifications, and system layouts using engineering software tools.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, plumbing, and civil engineers, to achieve integrated design solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, site surveys, and cost estimates to guide project planning and execution.
  • Evaluate electrical systems for performance, efficiency, and safety, providing recommendations for improvements where necessary.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design and operational issues during project development and execution phases.
  • Stay updated on emerging engineering technologies, sustainable design practices, and industry regulations.
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation, reports, and presentations for internal and client-facing engagements.
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment that values diverse perspectives.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical design, particularly within the MEP sector.
  • Proficiency in UK electrical design standards, including BS7671 and other relevant regulations.
  • Familiarity with modern design software such as AutoCAD, Revit (MEP), or equivalent engineering tools.
  • Strong understanding of power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, and energy-efficient designs.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in diverse teams.
  • Professional accreditation (e.g., Chartered Engineer or eligibility for CEng in the UK) is highly desirable.

Day-to-day

  • Collaborating with colleagues, clients, and contractors to deliver innovative electrical design solutions.
  • Finalizing detailed designs, conducting peer reviews, and ensuring all works adhere to best practices and standards.
  • Participating in team and client meetings to provide updates, share insights, and guide project progress.
  • Performing site visits for inspections, surveys, and installations to validate design performance.
  • Supporting internal training for team members and advocating for inclusive engineering practices.
  • Staying informed on advancements in the MEP field, incorporating best practices into project designs.
