Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer with expertise in UK Engineering Design - MEP and comprehensive knowledge of Electrical Design to join our diverse and innovative team. Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement electrical systems and solutions in compliance with UK MEP standards, codes, and regulations.
• Create detailed electrical designs, schematics, and layouts using CAD and other relevant tools.
• Conduct analysis and calculations for electrical loads, lighting, and energy efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, structural, and architectural teams, to align designs and ensure integration.
• Oversee project lifecycle stages, including concept development, detailed design, commissioning, and handover.
• Ensure adherence to budget, timelines, and quality standards across all project phases.
• Support sustainability initiatives by incorporating energy-efficient designs and renewable energy sources where appropriate.
• Conduct technical reviews and audits, and troubleshoot electrical issues when necessary.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
• Proven experience in UK Engineering Design – MEP projects with a focus on Electrical Design.
• Proficiency with engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Dialux, or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of UK building codes, standards, and regulations related to MEP systems.
• Ability to perform electrical load calculations, circuit designs, and equipment selection.
• Demonstrated expertise in sustainable and energy-efficient electrical system designs.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
• A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working toward it is highly desirable.
• Experience in project management, including managing budgets, timelines, and deliverables, is a plus.

Day-to-Day

• Collaborating with architects, project managers, and other engineers to develop innovative and practical design solutions.
• Producing and refining detailed electrical designs, layouts, and documentation.
• Conducting site visits to supervise installations, assess progress, and ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Meetings with clients and stakeholders to discuss project requirements, progress, and timelines.
• Using simulation and analysis tools to optimize designs for performance and efficiency.
• Addressing challenges that arise in ongoing projects and proposing practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Preparing reports, specifications, and presentations to share findings with technical and non-technical team members.
• Engaging in professional development activities to stay informed of new technologies and methodologies.
