Overview

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Associate Electrical Engineer to join our vibrant and diverse engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in UK Engineering Design – MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) and Mechanical Design, with a passion for delivering innovative and sustainable solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Electrical Systems Design: Develop comprehensive electrical designs as part of MEP engineering projects, ensuring compliance with UK standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical, plumbing, and architectural teams to create integrated and efficient building systems.
  • Project Support: Assist in the preparation of detailed reports, calculations, and drawings for all phases of development, from initial concept to completion.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Incorporate energy-efficient and sustainable practices into electrical designs, aligning with trends in green engineering.
  • Client Interaction: Participate in client meetings, presentations, and external project discussions, ensuring satisfaction with service delivery.
  • Problem-solving: Address technical challenges and provide creative, cost-effective solutions tailored to project goals.
  • Quality Control: Review and approve design work, ensuring accuracy, functionality, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in UK Engineering Design – MEP and Mechanical Design.
  • Strong understanding of UK building codes, regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and related tools for MEP designs.
  • Familiarity with energy modeling and renewable energy systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion in the workplace.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards Chartership.
  • Experience managing client relationships and mentoring junior team members.
  • Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes.
  • Passion for the development and adoption of sustainable engineering solutions.

Day-to-Day

  • Design electrical systems for diverse building types, incorporating MEP engineering principles and sustainable practices.
  • Engage in collaboration meetings with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of project components.
  • Develop detailed technical drawings, models, and reports to share with clients and internal teams.
  • Conduct site inspections and evaluations to ensure project execution aligns with design standards and requirements.
  • Stay up to date on industry innovations, trends, and best practices, and apply them to ongoing and future projects.
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative environment that supports professional growth and development.
  • Address technical inquiries and provide recommendations as a key contact point in the team.
