Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team in the Central Belt of Scotland. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within specialist engineering and infrastructure refurbishment. You’ll be involved in managing the financial and contractual performance of projects, with structured mentorship, professional development, and career progression provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of projects from tender to completion.

  • Prepare and submit valuations, variations, and change control documentation.

  • Support project teams with cost forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management.

  • Lead procurement and subcontractor management activities.

  • Maintain compliance with contract conditions, company procedures, and statutory obligations.

  • Prepare regular financial reports and maintain strong communication with clients and stakeholders.

  • Contribute to tendering, cost planning, and value engineering processes.

  • Identify and manage commercial risks, ensuring the best value outcomes for the business.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

  • Experience in civil engineering, infrastructure refurbishment, or structural maintenance projects preferred.

  • Sound understanding of NEC and other standard forms of contract.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

  • Competent in commercial reporting and relevant software packages.

  • A proactive attitude with a desire to learn, develop, and progress.
