Senior Structural Engineer - Building Structures – West of Scotland


This is a truly unique and exclusive opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join a highly successful, privately owned Civil/Structural Consultancy based in West of Scotland. What makes this position so unique is the path to becoming a Director in the future is clearly laid out and this will come with part ownership of the company.


The company was started by two ex-colleagues who worked together within a well recognised, medium sized consultancy at a very high level. Together they felt the consultancy environment could benefit from some changes, but they weren’t able to implement these changes within such a big company. This position is suited to a Structural Engineer who is naturally ambitious, wants to influence a business’s future, understands the consultancy environment and wants to not just work for a business but wants to take on further responsibilities going forward.


You will be exposed to all aspects of whichever role you fit into including business development, writing tender documents, client liaison, visiting sites, mentoring less experienced staff, detailed design and much more should you wish to do so.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate your UK based Consultancy knowledge
  • Technical input into projects
  • Manage projects
  • Attend meetings including: site, client, design and supplier
  • Develop new and existing business
  • Prepare technical drawings/calculations of all structural elements
  • Experienced in detailed design stages
  • Design using Steel, Concrete and Timber elements
  • Mentor and assist the less experienced members of the tea
