A new opportunity has been made live in the market for a Senior Structural Engineer with demonstrable technical and commercial experience. The role will be based in the Glasgow City Centre office. This new appointment is part of one of the biggest multi-disciplinary, multi-national businesses with aspiration to develop and continue grow the structural capacity in Scotland and across the UK while working on flagship projects locally and overseas. The Glasgow office provides multidisciplinary design and engineering services across a wide range of sectors with this position being specifically based within buildings.

You will be a Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer with a proven track record of successful delivery of design projects from concept to detailed design and completion of construction. You will be part of a team who demonstrate competence in technical robust design solutions through collaborative and proactive management of client demands. You will be required to demonstrate a developed understanding of the market and industry locally and further afield.

Key skills & Responsibilities:

  • Degree-qualified Civil/Structural Engineer or equivalent qualification
  • Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer
  • Proven track record in designing buildings using steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber
  • Detailed working knowledge of design codes and standards relating to structural engineering such as Eurocodes
  • Knowledge of construction implementation with proven site experience and an understanding of buildability.
  • Prepare and check design calculations of all structural elements
  • Check drawings and preparation of technical specifications
  • Assist in dealing with clients and managing a project
  • Carry out structural surveys/assessments
  • Site inspections
  • Represent the business as an experienced member of staff
