One of the UK's most successful Major Contractors are actively seeking 2 x experienced Quantity Surveyors for permanent positions in Glasgow.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Ability to carry out and complete the full range of commercial activities necessary for pre- and post- construction including; Minimise risk, maximise opportunity, minimise cost and maximise value
  • Provide assistance, support and guidance on all commercial issues within the Project(s)
  • Preparation of Valuations/Applications for Payment on a monthly basis with full supporting documentation in an efficient and timely manner and in accordance with the contract
  • Preparation of Cost Reports to the Client on a monthly basis with full supporting documentation.
  • Preparation of earned value calculations and detailed projected project outturn costs on a monthly basis.
  • Preparation and management of subcontract and material Procurement Schedules.
  • Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts from the preparation of requisitions, monitoring and authorisation of subcontract payments through to agreement of final accounts.
  • Administration of contract commercial requirements including valuation, final account, change management, variation and Compensation Event evaluation
  • Good understanding of the contract, preparation of notifications and loss and expense Ensure good practice and compliance with all contractual requirements

 

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • The ideal candidate will be degree-qualified, with at least an HNC in Civil Engineering;

  • Experience in heavy or minor civil engineering would be highly desirable, although any construction background will be considered; 

  • At least 5 years’ post-graduate experience in quantity surveying;

  • A good understand of NEC contracts;

  • Ideally be situated, or within commutable distance to Glasgow;

  • Confident and comfortable working on projects up to £5m in value.
