HOW TO GO BACK TO WORK FEELING REFRESHED AFTER THE HOLIDAYS

Returning to the daily grind after a holiday is never easy. With yet another Christmas around the corner, it won’t be long until we’re switching the mince pies, prosecco and family gatherings for alarm clocks, 6 am coffees and Monday morning meetings again.

With all the hustle and bustle at Christmas time it’s hard to find time to reflect, rest and prepare for the year ahead, so we’ve put together some tips to make that dreaded return a little bit easier.

Have a plan

The last week before Christmas is a time where everyone beings to wind down and finish off projects before their break. As well as planning for your departure, however, make sure you take time to plan your return to avoid added stress.

Arrive early

On the morning you return, try to arrive an hour earlier than usual and allow yourself to settle in. Grab a coffee or have your breakfast while you start to organise your day ahead. You will no doubt have a mountain of emails and voicemails waiting, which if you don’t tackle first thing, you’ll be chasing your tail all week.

Keep a positive mindset

Don’t let yourself get bogged down in a post-holiday slump. Be the pick me up the office needs and power through by blasting the workload whilst maintaining an optimistic attitude. You may be surprised at the effect it will have on your colleagues.

Plan your meals

We’ve all heard of #mealprepsunday so why not incorporate this into your working week? Usually planning what we’re going to eat for lunch is the last thing on our minds when we are up to our eyeballs in it. By spending a couple of hours on a Sunday night prepping your meals and freezing them for the week ahead, you’ll save yourself precious time to do more important things.

So now you have some easy tips why not try them this festive period and let us know how you get on.

Do you have any suggestions on what else you can do to make going back to work after a holiday easier?
